Snow, Snow, and Yes, More Snow

Well, in case you couldn't tell by the above title, it's been snowing. :) Since Matt takes the car to work, I have been stuck in the apartment for the last two days. However, one of my new neighbor friends had another snow day today and called to see if I wanted to go with her to the grocery store. I was thrilled to have the excuse to leave the apartment so off I went.

We have had at least 2-3 feet so far. I think most of the storm is past us and heading further East. I feel bad for my East Coast family right now! Thankfully, my AP and UB are headed to CA so they are missing all the not-so-wonderful weather to come. I hope you both have a wonderful time in sunny CA!

I haven't mentioned in a couple of days what Matt has been up to with work. His job can best be explained with two words: breaking glass. The purpose is to see how durable the glass is under every possible scenario. He has hit glass with a hammer, done all sorts of pressurized tests and has even blown glass up. Man, talk about a manly job - he's loving it! (Don't worry, this is all within a controlled environment so it's not like one of the tests is to duck and dodge flying glass everywhere!)

Now if you ask me, I'm not sure what these tests are supposed to simulate. Have any of you been drinking a beer and then thought, "Hey, I wonder if this beer would taste better if I smash it up with a hammer?" But apparently these tests help the glass industry and Matt's happy, so that's all that matters to me! :) So next time you are drinking beer from the bottle and a bomb goes off near you, you may be blown to smithereens, but your bottle will stay intact. I feel safer already!
